Mediatek unveils 6nm Dimensity 920 and Dimensity 810 chipsets
Mediatek has just announced the arrival of two new chipsets, which are an evolution of their previous chipset. The Density 920 and 810 will be built on TSMC’s 6nm manufacturing process with octa-core CPUs and Full HD+ displays that support a 120Hz refresh rate to ensure even greater performance.
The Density 920 has powerful Cortex-A78 and A55 cores that run at 2.5GHz for the former and 2 GHz for the latter, respectively. The GPU is a Mali-G68 MC4 which Mediatek claims will provide 9% faster gaming performance than its predecessor -the 900 models -.
The chip supports LPDDR4x RAM as well as UFS storage (2.2 & 3.1).
The Density 920 supports Dual 5G SIM connectivity as well as VR service. Other specs include all the latest Wi-Fi standards, 2×2 MIMO, and Bluetooth 5.2.
The new Density 810 chip may arrive in smartphones as early as Q3 2021 with its powerful Cortex-A76 CPU cores clocked at 2.4GHz and power-efficient ones of unconfirmed speed, a Mali G57 MC2 GPU, LPDDR4x RAM support up to 4GB, UFS storage type 2.2+.
