On October 31st, ROG announced their partnership with Qualcomm for their gaming smartphone. The new phone will include Qualcomm’s latest flagship Android chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
That in addition to the newly announced Xiaomi 14/Pro phones, OnePlus 12, iQOO 12 series, Honour Magic 6 series, realme GT5 Pro, new phones from the OPPO Find X series, Red Magic 9 series, and other models have been introduced. It has been established that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU is powering both of these devices.
There is still a lack of information on the new ROG gaming phone’s configuration as well as its physical design at this time. The device supports a refresh rate of 165 Hz, has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2448 by 1080 pixels, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with LPDDR5X and UFS4.0.
The device also contains a 50MP main camera (Sony IMX766), a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens (120°), and a 5MP macro lens, all located on the back. It’s capable of 65W rapid charging and features a huge, built-in battery with a capacity of 6000mAh. The ROG distinctive emblem is prominently displayed on the rear of the ROG Gaming Phone 7 in either Shadow Black or Phantom White.
