Xiaomi Revamps Its Camera Experience: Cleaner UI, Smarter Features, and a Rollout Plan You Should Know

On June 30, Xiaomi’s Camera Product Manager, @Bao_小李, took to social media to share exciting updates about the company’s comprehensive camera overhaul, aimed at fixing long-standing user complaints and delivering a more refined and professional photography experience.

What’s the Goal of the Camera Update?

Xiaomi listened. Before launching the updated version, the team collected extensive user feedback. Many users pointed out problems like inconsistent feature layouts, clunky logic, and a design that lacked polish. The new camera interface addresses these pain points with a simplified, more intuitive design focused on real-world shooting scenarios.

✨ What’s New?

  • Redesigned Interface: The UI is now cleaner and more focused. The preview area shows more of your shot, and the layout is now consistent across different modes.
  • Professional Mode, Reimagined: Now easier for beginners to use while retaining pro-level features like manual controls and effect presets.
  • Advanced Video Features: Supports multi-camera interconnected shooting and real-time monitoring—perfect for power users.
  • Visual Upgrade: Over 140 new icons and 600 refreshed interface elements. Boot animations were added, and international versions got optimized too.
